Afternoon ....Carol here just with our little reminder that the new challenge has started over at our sister site Crafty Ribbons challenge blog and this week we would like to see RIBBON n BUTTONS on your fabulous creations.
Here is a wonderful creation from our DT member Anke from the Button team using happy birthday ribbon from the crafty ribbon web site.
I've actually kept my card very CAS and used the ribbon design and colour as the focus for my card. I've tried to keep as much white space as possible by keeping the design in an "L" shape along the side and bottom. I've also rippled the ribbon to add some movement, but I made sure to leave the sentiment on show.
four colouring pencils were a freebie and as soon as I saw them I knew I
wanted to do something out of the ordinary with them. I pulled out
matching 3mm satin ribbon
and set to work trying to tie them together. After lots of frustration
I pulled out the glue gel and stuck them together! When the gel had
dried I added my ribbon and tied them in to bows.
Then this square of pencils sat on my desk for a week or more. I just
wasn't sure how to make it in to something... I couldn't add it to
scrapbook page as it is too dimensional. I couldn't incorporate it in
to a mini album as it wouldn't withstand much bashing around.
were two options left; a wreath - just a bit of quirky colour for the
sake of it or a picture frame - finding a way to put a back on and
getting it to stand by itself and adding a photo. As of yet I've not
managed to find a way of making it stand, so for now it is just a
colourful little wreath hanging up in my art room.
was crying out for a word or two. I don't really do words very well! I
looked at the rub ons that I had and decided 'wish' was the best fit. I
used my posca paint pen to highlight the rub on and then pushed it back
in to the canvas by smearing the tiniest bit of gesso of the top.
Hey, hey! How are you doing? I hope you've been enjoying your weekend so far! It's my turn to share something with you on here today. I decided to make a card - one that I could use for many different occassions. It's always good to have some of those in stock, don't you think so?
Anyways, here's the card ...
I used the gorgeous pink ribbon from Crafty ribbons. You can find it in the pink mini pack, together with some other awesome pink ribbons. Trust me, you definitely want to hop to the store and check this mini pack (and other mini packs as well) out. Especially because you can now buy it for only 1 GBP. Is this a good bragain or what?! ;)
If you want to read some more information about this card, please hop to my blog.
